The Australian International Performing Arts High School (AIPAH), is located in Harris Park. Students study in a unique environment where their performance art is nurtured and honed for their aspiring careers in the entertainment industry.
In a radical, new initiative led by AIPAH’s Principal, Jim McCrudden, along with the Head of Composition & Music Industry Studies, Michael Chin, students are working collaboratively on an exciting project involving SI-MI (a Melbourne-based site designed to promote and sell music, art, and videos online. Through this course, students learn about the music industry by actively engaging in all the processes from writing, recording and producing their original songs, looking at aspects of marketing and publishing their music on-line for digital download, and organizing their own events. The final result culminates in an Official Site Launch that promises an exciting night of variety showcasing the collaborative talents of the Music, Dance, Drama and Art streams. Students will perform their original works for friends, family, the public and music industry professionals (including representatives from Sony/BMG, Peer Music Publishing, APRA and more).
